Kodak Plus-X 125
Surprise! I had another two rolls of Plus-X in the bag and (double surprise) they were in a lovely state of preservation, without the dark spots of the previous roll.
Now I can really say my story with the Plus-X ends here, with these scans you see below. They also look very different from the other scans, and for an obvious reason: I developed them in a punchy Rodinal 1+25 bath, and even over-deloped a bit (like one minute and half more) so, yes, contrast and grain are quite evident. I would not say I “ruined” this classic emulsion in a Rodinal bath but probably having some D76 available would have helped to have a softer, more balanced result. I had a bottle of Ilfosol 3, actually, but it was open since forever, the syrup was very yellow and I finally decided to pour it down the drain. Developed this way it seems a bit like an FP4 125 so I’m now commited to buy and try the FP4 again and NOT develop it in Rodinal. Everything here has been shot with my grandpa’s fully automatic Olympus IS-1: fast and reliable autofocus in a super-ugly package and with a surprisingly evident barrel distortion at the 35mm wide end of the (sloooooow) power-zoom lens.
